OFFICIALS INFORMATION
Thank you for officiating at the High Sierra Volleyball Invitational. We appreciate your time and your help in providing a great tournament experience for our teams, coaches, and athletes.
Please review the information below prior to arriving at the tournament:
Location
Sportsdome

Check-In

Please check in at the Tournament Desk when you arrive.

If possible, officials should arrive approximately 30 minutes prior to their first scheduled match.
Parking
-
Parking may be limited, particularly for officials arriving after tournament play has started.

During normal business hours on Friday, tournament participants may park in the South 40 parking lot.

After business hours on Friday and throughout Saturday, the adjacent business parking lots will also be available for tournament parking.
Officials Hospitality Room
-
A hospitality room will be available for officials on the second floor, directly above the courts.

Snacks and water will be available throughout the tournament. We will also provide:

Friday: Pizza

Saturday: Sandwiches

Officials are welcome to use the hospitality room to relax between assignments.
Score Entry
We greatly appreciate your help entering match scores into the tournament software immediately following each match. Prompt score entry helps us keep standings, results, and upcoming matches updated throughout the tournament.

Officiating Equipment

Please bring your normal officiating equipment and accessories.

If you have line judge flags, you are welcome to bring those as well.
Work Teams

A team will be assigned to work each match and should provide:

If the assigned work team is missing or does not have enough personnel, please notify one of the Tournament Directors.
Warm-Up Protocol
Team's First Match of the Day

10 minutes total
-
5 minutes for the serving team
-
5 minutes for the receiving team
All Subsequent Matches
-
8 minutes total
-
4 minutes for the serving team
-
4 minutes for the receiving team
Match Format
All matches will be best 2 out of 3 sets.

Sets 1 and 2 are played to 25 points
-
A deciding third set is played to 15 points
-
All sets must be won by 2 points
-
There is no point cap
Home Team Designation

The home team will be the team listed closest to the tournament site on the schedule.

Please use this designation when determining the home and visiting teams for each match.
Keeping Matches on Schedule
We appreciate your assistance in keeping matches running as close to the published schedule as possible.
If a team is not present for either its playing or officiating assignment, please begin the scheduled warm-up period and notify Ray or Alix. We will locate the team and address the situation while you continue preparing for the match.
Protests & Rules Questions

Please direct any protests or significant rules questions to Ray or Alix.

Tournament administration will consult with a senior official as needed for rules interpretation.
